Three metres wide, two metres high, with eight centimetre sections: a regulation handball goal is recognised by its dimensions, but a club model is also chosen based on the hall, the age of the players, and the space for storage.
Competition goals, foldable goals, inflatable or Pop Up goals, reducers and targets for training.
The rules state that the inside of the goal is 3 metres wide and 2 metres high. The posts and crossbar have a square section of 8 cm and are painted on the three visible sides in two contrasting colours: 28 cm bands at the corners, 20 cm elsewhere. The goal must be securely fixed to the ground or wall, with a net depth of 0.9 m at the top and 1.1 m at the bottom to prevent the ball from bouncing out.
The embedded goal is anchored into the ground and is suitable for outdoor fields and rooms equipped with sleeves. The movable goal can be moved to free up the room, provided it is fixed before play. The wall-foldable goal folds against the wall and locks in place with a safety anchor. The pairs of competition goals from Sporti, made of steel or aluminium, are advertised as conforming to the NF EN 749 standard, which is for handball goals.
For the youngest, pairs of inflatable goals measuring 2.40 m by 1.70 m from Tremblay CT and Sporti can be set up in minutes and limit the risks in case of impact. The Flexi'Goal from Sporti, measuring 3 metres by 2 in lightweight steel, folds into a bag for transport and stands by its own weight, with pads that protect the ground. The Pop Up goal from Sporti and the Easy Pack mini-goals from Tremblay CT can be easily set up, in the hall or in the garden.
The Sporti goal reducer, a 3 metre foam module covered in M2 classified PVC tarpaulin, attaches with velcro and reduces the height of the goal to 1.70 m. The Powershot reducer follows the same idea. The target for the goal works on shot precision, and post protectors cushion impacts against the posts.
A worn or torn net can be replaced on the handball nets page. Workshops around the goal are prepared with training accessories. Teams can stand out with bib vests. Equipment for sand can be found on the beach handball page.
Clubs and schools can find dedicated offers in the clubs area. Reduced prices on collective equipment are also shown on the clubs sales page.
In France, handball goals are governed by the NF EN 749 standard, which sets their safety requirements and testing. Make sure the model's specification indicates this before equipping a room.
No for a competition goal: an unsecured goal can tip over on a player who hangs onto it. Inflatable goals and self-weighted foldable goals are designed for initiation, not to replace a secured goal.
Aluminium is lighter and does not rust, making it easier to handle and use outdoors. Steel, being heavier, is suited for a fixed goal.
Inflatable goals measuring 2.40 m by 1.70 m are the most common for initiation. Check the dimensions required by your league or committee for official plates.
It depends on the model; the product sheet specifies. If not, choose a net that fits the goal's dimensions from the dedicated page.
