The Speckbrett is a traditional ball game that is popular in certain regions of Germany, particularly in Westphalia. Rules may vary by region, but here are the basic rules of the game:

Playing Field and Equipment - Playing Field: The game is played on a rectangular court divided into two halves. In the middle of the court, there is a net or rope, similar to tennis but lower. - Racket: Each player uses a special racket called "Speckbrettschläger," which has a flat, rectangular hitting surface. - Ball: A rubber ball is used. - Teams: Speckbrett is usually played between two players (singles) or four players (doubles). - Positions: Players stand on either side of the net. In doubles, two players occupy one side of the court.

Game Rules - Serve: The serve is made from behind the service line and must be played diagonally into the opponent's service area. The ball can bounce once before being hit. - Rally: After the serve, players try to hit the ball over the net so that the opponent cannot legally return it. Scoring: Points are awarded when: - The ball bounces twice before being returned. - The ball goes out of bounds. - The ball touches the net or does not clear the net. - A player touches the ball with the racket without hitting it legally.
