A dribbling workshop where everyone keeps their ball, two-person passes without a break, a shooting session without a queue: this is what the sets of 10 handballs are for, the format for clubs, handball schools, and PE teachers.
Starter balls, practice balls, match balls, or ones to play without resin: each set features the same model, so the whole group works with the same feel.
A player gets used to the weight, the bounce, and the grip of their ball. When everyone plays with the same model, the coach can compare actions with identical equipment and no one complains about the ball being too smooth or too soft. It also makes inflation easier: just one pressure to remember for all ten.
For the younger ones, the set should be light and flexible. The Addicted by Softee, in size 1 yellow and blue, and the Flash by Softee, red and white, are used for initiation. The Flash by Erima, in pink and blue curaçao, and the white Magic add a more technical touch for children who are moving up to competition.
For a category that trains several times a week, a set of ten training balls does most of the work. Select offers the Solera, orange or green, and the Mundo, blue or yellow. Kempa features the Leo and Tiro, while Hummel offers the Classic and Classic Pro. These balls are made for repetition, able to withstand shots against the wall and extended drills.
A team engaged in a league can warm up with the match ball. The Ultimate by Select in the colours of the LFH, the Star Match and the Star Pro by Hummel or the Spectrum Synergy Pro by Kempa are available in sets of ten. The PSG ball and the Select ball in the colours of Handball-Store, in blue or red, are also included for clubs wanting a special ball. For a hall without resin, the D60 by Molten in size 2 is also offered by ten.
Number the balls and note the name of the team on a board, away from the valve. Check the pressure at the start of the week rather than at the start of the session, so you don’t lose ten minutes of training. A ball that deflates faster than the others often indicates a tired valve: take it out of the set before it disrupts the exercises.
Ten balls can sometimes be too many. The set of 3 balls is enough for a goalkeeper coach, while the set of 5 balls is enough for a shooting workshop. All formats are available on the balls set page.
Current discounts can be found in the special ball offers and club special offers. The ball sales return in winter and summer, and the ball clearance keeps the end of series.
Yes, a set consists of ten identical balls, in the model and colour specified on the sheet. To distinguish between two categories, take two sets in different colours.
The result is the same on the pitch, but the set saves you looking for the same model and size ten times. It especially ensures that all ten balls are identical, which matters for a group session.
It depends on the category: boys aged 12 to 16 play in size 2, those aged 8 to 12 in size 1, as do girls aged 8 to 14. Check the size of the set on its sheet before ordering.
It depends on the number of sessions, the resin and the surface. In the hall, a well-inflated and cleaned training ball lasts a season and often longer. On an outdoor pitch, the outer material wears out much faster.
It's not ideal: on sand, we play with softer balls designed for the beach. A hall ball gets damaged in contact with sand and saltwater. It's better to use a dedicated beach handball.
